Pakistan shuts down two INGOs over illegal activities

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to take action against two International non-governmental organizations (INGOs) for engaging in illegal activities, ARY News reported on Friday. The Ministry of Interior has ordered “Vital Strategies” and US-based “Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids” to stop work. A letter has been sent to the governments of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit baltistan and all provinces for the closure of both NGOs, whereas the State Bank of Pakistan has been directed to freeze their accounts. The Ministry of Interior has also urged in its letter to shut down the offices of both NGOs. Sources said that the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and Vital Strategies are operating in Pakistan without the approval of the government. Surprisingly they have been working with the Ministry of Health for years. ANF arrests five drug dealers in operations across Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) while conducting five operations recovered over 10 drugs worth Rs 1.8 million and arrested five accused, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman on Friday. He informed that 1.605 kg drug was recovered from the possession of an accused rounded up near a hospital in Korangi, Karachi. The arrested accused confessed to selling drugs to the students of educational institutions. 3.6 kg hashish was recovered from the possession of the accused arrested near a mosque in Sector G-9, Islamabad. 3.6 kg hashish was recovered from a drug dealer arrested near Sona Khan Chowk, Quetta. 1 kg ice was recovered from the accused held near Bohana Chowk on Jhang Road, Faisalabad. 500 grams heroin hidden in 6 bags was recovered near Bahria Town in Islamabad and a suspect was arrested. Babies born in 2025 to be called Generation Beta

CANBERRA: As the clock strikes 2025 a new generation is born called Generation Beta. The Australian research firm McCrindle defined Generation Beta as those who will born between 2025 and 2039. McCrindle said in its report that the digital and physical worlds will be unified for Generation Beta, in which AI and automation are fully embedded in everyday life—from education and workplaces to healthcare and entertainment.
