Five people shot dead over old enmity in Bannu

BANNU: At least five people including father and his two sons were gunned down on Sunday over old enmity in Bannu, a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ARY News reported.

According to police, the firing incident between two families occurred within the limits of Saddar police station of Bannu district.

The incident occurred due to old enmity between the groups, said the police.

Getting information of the incident, the rescue teams reached the spot and moved bodies to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The further investigation was underway, said police.

CM Mahmood Khan took notice of the incident and sought a comprehensive report from the IGP.

Earlier on August 23, three people had been gunned down over an old enmity in Rawalpindi.

Police had said that they were shot dead in an ambush by a rival group in Gujar Khan area of Rawalpindi. The officials had said that Ghazanfar, Mahmood and Masood were riding a motorcycle when unidentified armed men had opened fire on them in Darya Khaki area.

Karachi police to probe DIG Azfar Mahesar’s son’s viral firing videos

KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar ordered an inquiry after Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) East Azfar Mahesar’s son Asher’s aerial firing videos went viral on social media, ARY News reported. Earlier, video footage showed DIG Azfar Mahesar’s son brandishing different kinds of weapons and resorting to aerial firing in several videos posted on social media. Asher was seen in different locations, sometimes in a moving car, relentlessly conducting aerial firing. Speaking to ARY News, Lanjar said that he has ordered Karachi police to do a forensic examination of the videos and initiate action against DIG Mahesar if he is found guilty in the case. CJCSC addresses participants of 53rd PN Staff Course

RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on Thursday visited Pakistan Navy War College Lahore and addressed the participants of the 53rd PN Staff Course. According to a press statement issued by the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), the CJCSC expressed his views on the armed forces’ efforts in confronting the multifaceted conventional and non-conventional challenges. General Sahir Shamshad Mirza said that the Pakistan Navy has always fulfilled the expectations for the protection of maritime borders. “The Pakistan Navy has a proud history of bravery and sacrifices for the motherland,” the CJCSC added.
