ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Secretariat has issued 27-point agenda of the NA session tomorrow (Monday) including the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan on the agenda, ARY News reported.

The extraordinary session of the National Assembly (NA) was summoned on the requisition of the opposition lawmakers on Friday, which was adjourned after the Fateha for the deceased lawmaker.

Speaker NA Asad Qaiser will chair the NA session tomorrow, for which a 27-point agenda has been issued. The guidelines have been issued for the MNAs for the session.

Earlier in the day, Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief and MNA Shahzain Bugti announced to resign from the federal cabinet and part ways with the government after Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reached out to him.

The delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto along with other opposition leaders visited Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief and MNA Shahzain Bugti to seek support for the no-trust move against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Bilawal Bhutto and Shahzain Bugti discussed political developments in the country as members from both sides were also present during the meeting. JWP’s MNA Shahzain Bugti was part of the coalition government of Imran Khan.

Pakistan plans to transform optical fiber cable network into global digital gateway

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr Umar Saif on Wednesday said that the government had finalized a plan to transform Pakistan’s optical fiber cable network into a global digital gateway. The implementation of the proposed project would benefit Pakistan by millions of dollars, he disclosed while speaking in a high-level meeting. The meeting was attended by representatives of key organizations, including the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Special Communication Organization, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL), TransWorld, and CyberNet. Progress made on Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project

ISLAMABAD: Progress was made on Pakistan and Iran gas pipeline project as both countries agreed on reviving the stalled cooperation and formal contacts will be started within a few weeks. It is pertinent to mention here that Iran gave Pakistan time until September 2024 to complete the project, otherwise, it may move to international arbitration for the breach of contract. Senator Muhammad Abdul Qadir, the Chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Petroleum said that both sides will start formal contacts for the gas pipeline project within two to three weeks. The Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project has faced many delays due to the risk of US sanctions on Iran. The project remains substantially delayed.
