KARACHI: An agitating video has surfaced which showed a man on a motorcycle harassing a passer-by girl in a Karachi street, ARY News reported on Sunday.

The CCTV footage showed a motorcyclist harassing a girl walking alone in the street of Orangi Town, Karachi. After committing the immoral act, the man fled from the scene.

Police started a manhunt for the man who appeared on the CCTV footage. Police told the media that the affected girl did not register any complaint about the harassment incident.

The face of the accused man can be clearly seen in the CCTV footage that will help the police to identify and arrest him.

Earlier in February, the Lahore police had arrested a man on charges of harassing a girl walking on Lahore’s Gulberg Road.

The police arrested a man after the victim girl uploaded a picture of the accused on social media allegedly involved in the harassment.

“The accused was harassing me for a couple of days during my office timings,” she had said in a complaint.

Police had registered a case against the suspect and an investigation was initiated.

Pakistan plans to transform optical fiber cable network into global digital gateway

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr Umar Saif on Wednesday said that the government had finalized a plan to transform Pakistan’s optical fiber cable network into a global digital gateway. The implementation of the proposed project would benefit Pakistan by millions of dollars, he disclosed while speaking in a high-level meeting. The meeting was attended by representatives of key organizations, including the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Special Communication Organization, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL), TransWorld, and CyberNet. Progress made on Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project

ISLAMABAD: Progress was made on Pakistan and Iran gas pipeline project as both countries agreed on reviving the stalled cooperation and formal contacts will be started within a few weeks. It is pertinent to mention here that Iran gave Pakistan time until September 2024 to complete the project, otherwise, it may move to international arbitration for the breach of contract. Senator Muhammad Abdul Qadir, the Chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Petroleum said that both sides will start formal contacts for the gas pipeline project within two to three weeks. The Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project has faced many delays due to the risk of US sanctions on Iran. The project remains substantially delayed.
