Viral: Bride married to another relative after groom fails to reach on time

Maharashtra: An angry father married off his daughter to another man after the groom got too drunk and failed to reach the wedding destination on time. 

The weird incident took place in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra, India.

According to local media, the wedding was to take place at 4 pm on April 22 in Malkapur Pangra village of Maharashtra state of India. However, the groom did not reach the wedding hall until 8 pm due to excessive drinking and dancing with his friends.

The bride’s mother told the local media, “The groom and his friends were drunk and came to the Mandap at 8 pm instead of 4 pm and started fighting. We got my daughter married to one of our relatives.”

The drunk groom reached the Mandap at last, but it was too late as the bride’s father had already decided to marry her to another relative.

“The wedding ceremony was supposed to be on April 22, the groom’s side were busy dancing. The wedding time was at 4 pm but they reached the venue at 8 pm. So, I got my daughter married to one of my relatives,” the father of the bride said.

Pakistan plans to transform optical fiber cable network into global digital gateway

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr Umar Saif on Wednesday said that the government had finalized a plan to transform Pakistan’s optical fiber cable network into a global digital gateway. The implementation of the proposed project would benefit Pakistan by millions of dollars, he disclosed while speaking in a high-level meeting. The meeting was attended by representatives of key organizations, including the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Special Communication Organization, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL), TransWorld, and CyberNet. Progress made on Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project

ISLAMABAD: Progress was made on Pakistan and Iran gas pipeline project as both countries agreed on reviving the stalled cooperation and formal contacts will be started within a few weeks. It is pertinent to mention here that Iran gave Pakistan time until September 2024 to complete the project, otherwise, it may move to international arbitration for the breach of contract. Senator Muhammad Abdul Qadir, the Chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Petroleum said that both sides will start formal contacts for the gas pipeline project within two to three weeks. The Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project has faced many delays due to the risk of US sanctions on Iran. The project remains substantially delayed.
