RAHIM YAR KHAN: At least three sanitation workers have died while cleaning sewage line in Rahim Yar Khan, ARY News reported.

As per details, the rescue sources said that the sanitation fell when they were cleaning the sewage line.

So far three workers have died and one worker is moved to hospital in critical condition.

In a separate incident, a female sanitation worker in India’s Hyderabad was killed after being stuck by a speeding private bus as she was sweeping a walkway.

The incident took place in the Ramkote area of India’s Hyderabad, wherein a speeding private bus hit a female sanitation worker – identified as Sunita – of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

A CCTV footage of the incident is going viral on social media. The CCTV footage shows the woman, Sunita, sweeping Ramkote road when the bus rammed into her and crushed her against a tree.

She sustained critical injuries and succumbed while being shifted to the government-run Osmania General Hospital.

The accident occurred around 7.45 a.m. and the driver of the bus has been identified as Momin. A case was booked against Momin under Section 304-A (death by negligence) of the IPC.

Pakistan plans to transform optical fiber cable network into global digital gateway

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr Umar Saif on Wednesday said that the government had finalized a plan to transform Pakistan’s optical fiber cable network into a global digital gateway. The implementation of the proposed project would benefit Pakistan by millions of dollars, he disclosed while speaking in a high-level meeting. The meeting was attended by representatives of key organizations, including the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Special Communication Organization, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL), TransWorld, and CyberNet. Progress made on Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project

ISLAMABAD: Progress was made on Pakistan and Iran gas pipeline project as both countries agreed on reviving the stalled cooperation and formal contacts will be started within a few weeks. It is pertinent to mention here that Iran gave Pakistan time until September 2024 to complete the project, otherwise, it may move to international arbitration for the breach of contract. Senator Muhammad Abdul Qadir, the Chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Petroleum said that both sides will start formal contacts for the gas pipeline project within two to three weeks.
