Hollywood film franchise ‘Scream‘ went on life support as director Christopher Landon parted ways with ‘Scream 7‘ following the departure of its leading stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.

Melissa Barrera and ‘Wednesday‘ star Jenna Ortega were first to leave the project and now Christopher Landon, who has worked on ‘Happy Death Day‘ and ‘Freaky‘ has parted ways with it.

Christopher Landon addressed his departure from ‘Scream 7‘ on the social media application X. He said it was a dream that turned into a disaster. 

“I guess now is as good a time as any to announce I formally exited ‘Scream 7’ weeks ago,” he tweeted. “This will disappoint some and delight others. It was a dream job that turned into a nightmare. And my heart did break for everyone involved. Everyone. But it’s time to move on. I have nothing.”

He concluded by hoping that the iconic franchise, created by the late great filmmaker Wes Craven, lives on. 

“What he [Wes Craven] and Kevin [Feige] created is something amazing and I was honoured to have even the briefest moment basking in their glow,” he added.

Pakistan plans to transform optical fiber cable network into global digital gateway

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr Umar Saif on Wednesday said that the government had finalized a plan to transform Pakistan’s optical fiber cable network into a global digital gateway. The implementation of the proposed project would benefit Pakistan by millions of dollars, he disclosed while speaking in a high-level meeting. The meeting was attended by representatives of key organizations, including the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Special Communication Organization, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL), TransWorld, and CyberNet. He said that all the necessary resources and facilities had been provided for the digital gateway initiative. Progress made on Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project

ISLAMABAD: Progress was made on Pakistan and Iran gas pipeline project as both countries agreed on reviving the stalled cooperation and formal contacts will be started within a few weeks. It is pertinent to mention here that Iran gave Pakistan time until September 2024 to complete the project, otherwise, it may move to international arbitration for the breach of contract. Senator Muhammad Abdul Qadir, the Chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Petroleum said that both sides will start formal contacts for the gas pipeline project within two to three weeks. The Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project has faced many delays due to the risk of US sanctions on Iran. The project remains substantially delayed. While the Iranian section of the pipeline has been completed, the Pakistani section remains under construction and subject to delays owing to concerns with regard to the US sanctions on Iran.
