Karachi: Illegal inter-city bus stands to be removed

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi on Wednesday ordered action against ‘illegal’ inter-city bus stands which are creating inconvenience to other motorists besides causing traffic jams, ARY News reported.  

Chairing a meeting in this regard, Commissioner Karachi directed the concerned authorities to take action against these illegal inter-city bus stands within two weeks.

The bus stands identified for removal include Cantt, Taj Complex, Muhammad Ali (MA) Jinnah Road, and Al-Karam. Deputy commissioners, district police, and traffic police will jointly carry out the operation.

Inter-city buses will be allowed to run from Karachi Bus Terminal, Superhighway Meanwhile, a new shuttle service will be introduced to facilitate passengers.

Karachi police to probe DIG Azfar Mahesar’s son’s viral firing videos

KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar ordered an inquiry after Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) East Azfar Mahesar’s son Asher’s aerial firing videos went viral on social media, ARY News reported. Earlier, video footage showed DIG Azfar Mahesar’s son brandishing different kinds of weapons and resorting to aerial firing in several videos posted on social media. Asher was seen in different locations, sometimes in a moving car, relentlessly conducting aerial firing. Speaking to ARY News, Lanjar said that he has ordered Karachi police to do a forensic examination of the videos and initiate action against DIG Mahesar if he is found guilty in the case. CJCSC addresses participants of 53rd PN Staff Course

RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on Thursday visited Pakistan Navy War College Lahore and addressed the participants of the 53rd PN Staff Course. According to a press statement issued by the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), the CJCSC expressed his views on the armed forces’ efforts in confronting the multifaceted conventional and non-conventional challenges. General Sahir Shamshad Mirza said that the Pakistan Navy has always fulfilled the expectations for the protection of maritime borders. “The Pakistan Navy has a proud history of bravery and sacrifices for the motherland,” the CJCSC added.
