Saudi Arabia: King Salman Foundation launched

RIYADH: King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques,  on Thursday announced the launch of the ‘King Salman Foundation’, local media reported.

“The non-profit foundation is an extension of the charitable and humanitarian works of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,” the Kingdom media outlet reported.

“We will always continue, God willing, to invest in people, develop their culture and pride in their identity as a permanent approach because we seek to confront human challenges and sustain the prosperity of societies. We look forward to making the foundation a lasting impact on the individual and society,” the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

The King, in a royal order, approved adoption of the King Salman Non-profit Foundation’s bylaws. The King’s love of culture, history, and knowledge is reflected in the Foundation, which also upholds accomplishments in the nonprofit industry. The Foundation is in favor of sustainable urban development as well.

The King Salman Cultural Centers, which comprise the Saudi Society Museum at the King Salman Park Project and the King Salman Museum and Library under the Diriyah Gate Project, are included in the foundation.

Karachi police to probe DIG Azfar Mahesar’s son’s viral firing videos

KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar ordered an inquiry after Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) East Azfar Mahesar’s son Asher’s aerial firing videos went viral on social media, ARY News reported. Earlier, video footage showed DIG Azfar Mahesar’s son brandishing different kinds of weapons and resorting to aerial firing in several videos posted on social media. Asher was seen in different locations, sometimes in a moving car, relentlessly conducting aerial firing. Speaking to ARY News, Lanjar said that he has ordered Karachi police to do a forensic examination of the videos and initiate action against DIG Mahesar if he is found guilty in the case. CJCSC addresses participants of 53rd PN Staff Course

RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on Thursday visited Pakistan Navy War College Lahore and addressed the participants of the 53rd PN Staff Course. According to a press statement issued by the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), the CJCSC expressed his views on the armed forces’ efforts in confronting the multifaceted conventional and non-conventional challenges. General Sahir Shamshad Mirza said that the Pakistan Navy has always fulfilled the expectations for the protection of maritime borders. “The Pakistan Navy has a proud history of bravery and sacrifices for the motherland,” the CJCSC added. Earlier upon arrival, General Sahir Shamshad Mirzaki was welcomed by Commander Rear Admiral Azhar Mahmood.
